The Sphelar Solar Flashlight Makes Charging Your Flashlight Easy And Green

Flashlights are incredibly useful tools, but if you use them a lot, you know from personal experience how quickly they chew through batteries, and how many they’ll grind through on a regular basis. As a result, more and more work is going into making flashlights more reliable and easier to charge, and one of the more interesting results of that is the Sphelar Solar Flashlight. Could it be the best tactical flashlight?

The Power Of The Sun

Yeah, it sounds like a goofy arrangement of mirrors designed by hippies, but in actuality, it’s a flashlight with an interesting design. Solar flashlights themselves aren’t anything new, really; survival gear fans will probably know of and own several. What’s unique about this is the design of it.

The solar cells are spherical, first of all, lending it the name, and they’re also suspended in lucite, so you can have an attractive refraction of light while charging it up. But, of course, the proof is in the shining.

Light It Up

It’s designed to be a small pocket and accent light, essentially good for light use and for use around the house. It’s a fairly powerful light for that, though, with a power-efficient LED bulb and a design that makes it easy to stand up for when you need a light facing upwards, or just for your flashlight to not fall off the table while you’re doing something.

Better Design, Better Light

It’s true that this won’t take the place of that massive lantern you have, with the high power beam. But this is a useful small flashlight you can take with you pretty much anywhere and charge up pretty much anywhere, and that has its own use. Admittedly, at $150 a pop it’s not exactly your first purchase, but if you’re tired of swapping out batteries and want a light that makes you more self-sufficient, this is a good place to start.
