Top 10 Best Dual SIM Phones

#1  Google Pixel 5 Dual SIM Phone

WHY WE LIKE IT: With a simple and durable design, smooth 90Hz display, and excellent 5G network capabilities, this dual SIM phone was an easy choice for our top pick spot. It also offers advanced features like reverse wireless charging and added durability with its IP68 rating and Gorilla Glass 6 for the display.

  • Simple, yet durable form factor
  • Bright, colorful 90Hz display
  • Reverse wireless charging function
  • Not the highest performing processor
  • Onboard speakers could be better

The Google Pixel 5 is one of the best dual SIM phones, unlocked so you can use it with any wireless carrier without a problem. It features Dual SIM Dual Standby, which uses one local SIM card and one eSIM for versatile functionality. The Pixel 5 also performs incredibly well with standard smartphone functionality. Yes, it features a slower (on paper) Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor, but it offers reliable performance that’s hard to beat. This is mostly due to the fact that this phone offers an overly simplified user interface for its Android operating system, which requires less processing power than other Android smartphones. The result is a smooth user experience without stuttering or lagging.

You’ll also get an incredibly well-designed form factor with the Google Pixel 5. It’s not the most exciting design in the world, but it works perfectly well for anyone who doesn’t care about the flashy designs most flagship phones offer today. The phone is also durable with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 on the display and an IP68 water and dust resistance rating. The Pixel’s display features a 90Hz refresh rate. It’s also bright and colorful, which looks great for movies and mobile games. The Pixel’s battery life should last you all day long with standard use, and it can also be charged wirelessly. We were impressed that Google also included reverse wireless charging, which allows you to convert the Pixel 5 into a wireless charging pad for your other devices.

#2  Samsung Galaxy A50 Dual SIM Phone

WHY WE LIKE IT: This powerful smartphone offers an affordable entry point to the world of dual SIM technology, along with reliable processing power, a gorgeous display, and all-day battery life. Plus, it’s built well overall with a design that looks like a high-end flagship phone.

  • All-day battery life
  • Stunning, high-resolution AMOLED display
  • Reliable processing power
  • Disappointing camera performance
  • Plastic design feels low budget

The Samsung Galaxy A50 is one of the most affordable dual SIM smartphones your money can buy today, and it, fortunately, doesn’t sacrifice much in the way of performance to get there. It’s one of the best Samsung dual SIM phones available today because of its reliable, consistent performance and excellent design. The phone features a Samsung Exynos 9610 processor, which is a mid-range chipset that works well in nearly every situation. It’s not the fastest processor around, but it provides a consistent performance so you’ll hardly ever experience freezing or lagging.

We were also impressed by the Samsung’s overall design. It looks like a premium flagship smartphone due to its slim bezels on the display and sleek overall appearance. Holding the phone tells a different story though. The plastic in the design is a little cheap, but it isn’t surprising considering the lower price point. However, you still get a massive 4000 mAh battery that gives you all-day battery life and an ever-elusive headphone jack. The camera on the Samsung Galaxy A50 budget phone is a little disappointing but performs well in most circumstances. The display is the best part of this phone. It’s an AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and vivid colors, which is impressive for such an affordable phone. For better camera options, check out the best phones for vlogging.

The display’s best feature, though, is its 120Hz refresh rate. This makes everything buttery smooth, including high-action gaming and movies or sports. You’ll even get HDR10+ support, which makes everything on your phone more colorful and bright.

You’ll also get excellent performance on the OnePlus 8 Pro. It features a powerful octa-core Snapdragon 865 chipset, which is one of the fastest you can get today. This processor makes everything operate seamlessly on the OnePlus. You’ll be able to multitask and switch quickly between apps without even the hint of a hiccup. We were also impressed by the phone’s large battery, which gives you all-day power. The battery can also be charged very quickly through wireless charging, and even provides reverse wireless charging functionality to act as a charger for other devices. The Huawei Mate 20 offers a truly premium smartphone experience from every piece of its design, from battery performance to display quality. If we had to choose its best feature, though, it would be the battery life. Featuring a whopping 4200 mAh battery, the Mate 20 can last at least a day and a half before needing a recharge. With minimal use, you can even stretch this into two days of power. The phone also includes an impressive 40W charger, which gets your battery fully charged in no time. You’ll also be able to charge the Huawei Mate 20 wireless for even more versatility.

This powerful dual SIM phone also features an impressive chipset in the Kirin 980 CPU. It’s an octa-core processor that makes everything run incredibly smooth on this phone. Everything from the gorgeous OLED display to the user interface runs smoothly. The UI is a little complicated at times, though, and lacks the refinement of Samsung and iPhone alternatives. However, it doesn’t lag or stutter thanks to the phone’s powerful process. You’ll also be impressed by the Mate 20’s premium design. The curved glass, metal frame, and stunning display work together to create a beautiful looking phone. No need for the best portable battery with this option!

#5  Samsung Galaxy S10 Dual SIM Phone

WHY WE LIKE IT: With a powerful, snappy Snapdragon 855 octa-core processor, you’ll get the best when it comes to performance with this dual SIM phone. It also features a premium overall design with an infinity-O display, wireless PowerShare, and a decent camera.

  • Sharp, detailed screen quality
  • Nearly bezel-less display
  • Handy wireless PowerShare
  • Inconsistent fingerprint reader performance
  • Basic next to premium Samsung phones

The Samsung Galaxy S10 is an amazing overall dual SIM phone, even though it has been technically outpaced by the next-gen Samsung Galaxy S20 line of smartphones. However, we had to include this phone in our buying guide because of its reliable dual SIM performance and powerful internal processor. With a Snapdragon 855 octa-core processing, the Galaxy S10 is plucky and extra responsive, making it an excellent choice for power users who don’t want to pay flagship phone prices for the newest options. Everything about the Samsung runs smoothly, including the overall user interface and resource-heavy applications.

The design of the Samsung Galaxy S10 is also something to be applauded in our review. It was designed with quality in mind, which is apparent throughout its entire form factor. The 5.8-inch AMOLED display offers vivid colors and sharp details. It also sports an infinity-O design with nearly zero bezels. The phone also features an all-metal body, which looks and feels great in your hands. We were also impressed by the S10’s overall battery life and wireless PowerShare functionality, which allows you to use the phone as a wireless charging mat. True of most Galaxy models, it’s also a great choice for the best selfie camera phones.

#6  Huawei P30 Pro Dual SIM Phone

WHY WE LIKE IT: If quality matters more to you than anything else in your dual SIM phone, then you can’t go wrong with this premium smartphone. With an amazing camera, premium form factor, and next-gen functionality, this high-quality option will elevate your overall phone experience.

  • Camera produces sharp, detailed shots
  • Extra-large display with slim bezels
  • Fast fingerprint sensor in screen
  • Only FHD display resolution
  • UI isn’t as responsive as others

The Huawei P30 Pro dual SIM phone earns the Best Quality in this buying guide for a wide variety of reasons. For starters, you’ll get an extra-large 6.47-inch display that looks amazing. It’s virtually bezel-less and shatter-resistant with Corning Gorilla Glass. Durability is further increased with IP68 certification for water resistance. You’ll only get FHD resolution on the display, but it’s hardly noticeable since it’s so sharp, detailed, and bright. We were also impressed with the visual aesthetics of the P30 Pro. With an incredibly unique gradient coloring, you’ll be sure to turn some heads whenever the phone leaves your pocket.

When it comes to performance, the Huawei smartphone features a snappy Kirin 980 processor, which easily keeps up with Qualcomm’s latest chipsets. It’s good the phone has such a powerful processor because the phone’s EMUI user interface is a little clunky. The processor smooths out the edges for you, though, and you’ll hardly notice anything during use. You’ll also get a truly great camera array on the Huawei P30 Pro. With quad lenses, you’ll be able to capture high-quality images on both the front-facing and rear cameras. The Motorola One Zoom is an excellent overall dual SIM phone with solid performance and good features. You should note that this is not a premium flagship phone and won’t offer cutting-edge functionality. However, it’s one of the best cheap dual SIM phones and still functions really well as a mid-range phone. The phone features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor, which is more than enough power to run the Motorola’s user-friendly interface and most applications. The overall design of the phone is excellent as well, and it even offers a truly stunning Cosmic Purple color, which is unique and eye-catching.

  • Display is clear and detailed
  • Fast charging capabilities
  • Reliable performance with Snapdragon 450 chip
  • Disappointing battery life
  • No water resistance

The Motorola Moto G6 smartphone isn’t going to blow any of the flagship phones out of the water with its performance or design, but it’s not even trying to. It understands that it comes to the table as a budget smartphone and performs its role really well. For starters, the Moto G6 features a reliable Snapdragon 750 chipset, which does more than enough to power the phone and its simple user interface. The phone isn’t the best for gaming or using work mobile applications, but it will do well enough for most casual smartphone users.

The Moto G6 dual SIM phone also features a 3000 mAh battery, which should last you for the bulk of your day before needing to be recharged. We were impressed that Motorola included fast charging capabilities on this phone, which charges it back up in a very short time frame. You’ll also get a stellar design quality here, with a clear, crisp display and ergonomic form factor. Unfortunately, the phone doesn’t feature any kind of water resistance, so you’ll need to be extra careful while using it.

How We Decided

As we researched the different dual SIM phones on the market today, we first focused our efforts on only including phones with active dual SIM capability. This is the best form of using two SIM cards because it allows you to receive phone calls and text messages from either SIM card at any given time. The overall process for adding a SIM card should also be easy, with simple access to the SIM card slots. We preferred options that allowed you to change SIM cards through side access slots but still included options with the slots behind removable back covers.

Next, we moved on to ranking each phone in this buying guide based on its overall performance and feature set, much like we have done in other phone buying guides. We first looked at processor performance. Since this the brain of the phone, we ranked options higher if their processors were more powerful. Along this same line of thinking, we also rated smartphones higher if they featured simple user interfaces, which work well with the internal chipsets to create extra-smooth user experiences.

Finally, we looked at build and design quality, including screen quality, camera quality, and durability. Most modern smartphones include high-resolution displays that are bright and colorful. We ranked dual SIM phones higher if their displays offered more resolution than full HD. We also preferred phones with added durability features, like IP68 water resistance and shatter-resistant screens.

Best Dual SIM Phone Buyer’s Guide

The Most Important Features to Consider

  1. Dual Passive vs. Dual Active
There are two different types of dual SIM phones to consider: dual passive and dual active. Let’s take a look at the differences between the two:

    • Dual Passive: This is an outdated approach to dual SIM technology. It means that only one SIM card can be active at a time. If you want to use the other SIM card, you need to manually activate it through the phone’s internal settings. Fortunately, you won’t find this approach to dual SIM technology in many of today’s dual SIM smartphones.
    • Dual Active: This approach to dual SIM technology means both SIM will remain active at the same time. You’ll be able to receive voice calls and text messages from either SIM card without needing to manually adjust settings. Unfortunately, this approach also tends to drain your phone’s battery life much quicker since it requires two radio transceivers to be active all the time.
  2. Battery Life
Since most dual SIM phones usually require two transceivers to constantly be active, you may experience much lower battery life than expected while using your phone. This is why it’s important to purchase an option with long-lasting battery life. The size of a phone’s battery is measured in milliampere-hours or mAh. The larger the mAh, the longer your battery will last. However, there are many factors that can affect the battery. If you don’t have a powerful, efficient processor, your battery may drain faster than options that do have this feature. Also, if you’re constantly running your phone on its highest display brightness, you’ll get less battery life. Keep these things in mind as you consider battery life.
  3. Performance
Like other smartphones, you’ll still want a dual SIM phone that can perform reliably throughout your day. This performance is a result of the combination of processor power, user interfaces, and network speeds. Look for phones with powerful, current-gen chipsets and simplified user interfaces for the best performance.
  4. Durability/Design
Your dual SIM phone’s overall design and durability is another important consideration to make before clicking the buy button. You’ll want to purchase a phone that feels good in your hand and one that looks good, as well. Most modern smartphones today are larger than they ever have been, which is great for power users, but it also means they’re easier to slip from your hands and drop. This is why it’s important to buy a phone with a high level of durability, usually in the form of water resistance and drop protection. Look for IP ratings (usually IP68) and tough screens made from materials like Corning’s Gorilla Glass.
  5. Camera
Dual SIM smartphones are starting to quickly outpace digital cameras in quality and portability. If you’re a fan of taking pictures and videos during your travels, you’ll definitely want to purchase a phone with a high-quality camera. Most smartphones feature multiple lenses, each with different functionality and megapixel resolution, and can even record in stunning 4K video.
