The Epson Home Cinema LS11000 is excellent for movies, thanks to its Ultra HD 4K 3840 ×2160 resolution produces crystal-clear pictures with no rainbow artifacts. It ranks in the top half of certified, tested projectors with an impressive 2497 lumens of brightness in HDR and 1400 lumens in SDR mode. It boasts HDMI 2.1 outputs and supports eARC, so it’s suitable for 3D audio formats. The 120 Hz refresh rate offers smooth playback. The motorized lens supports zooming, focusing, and lens shifting. Its 12,000,000:1 dynamic contrast delivers impressively inky blacks, although there’s a minor loss in shadow detail.

The Epson Home Cinema LS11000 gets brighter in HDR mode than the Epson Home Cinema 3800, which is a similar 4K ultra UHD laser projector. It also supports eARC over its HDMI 2.1 ports, so it’s more suitable for high frame rate gaming and 3D audio than the 3800. However, the Epson Home Cinema 3800 is more affordable to buy and is more portable. If you need an even brighter and more portable projector, consider our Epson EpiQVision Ultra LS800 review.

The Epson Home Cinema LS11000 costs slightly more than the Epson PowerLite 810e, which is a similar 3840 × 2160 pixel projector with dynamic contrast. However, the PowerLite is slightly more affordable to buy and has an ultra-short throw distance, so it’s more suitable for small spaces than the LS11000. If you’re on a tight budget, see our Epson Pro EX7280 WXGA review.

The Epson Home Cinema LS11000 gets much brighter both in SDR and HDR mode than the Optoma UHD35. It also has much better color accuracy, owing to its laser lamp tech, which differs from the Optoma projector’s DLP lamp. It has HDMI 2.1 ports that support eARC, so it’s more suitable for 3D content formats than the Optoma. That said, the Optoma projector is much more affordable to purchase. For an even brighter Optoma projector, consider our Optoma Cinemax P2 review.
