The Dell UltraSharp U2412M is the top choice when it comes to work productivity, only keeping features that will keep you focused. With a Premium Panel Guarantee offered, even if your monitor breaks, Dell will service you with a new one so you’ll never skip a beat.
Coming with an LED backlight for reduced eye strain, the Dell UltraSharp U2412M was produced for a specific target audience. For gamers who want the ultimate viewing experience, this may not be the option for you. However, the ASUS ROG SWIFT PG279Q will be a much better choice. Now what the U2412M monitor excels at is being a LED monitor that is exceptional for work. Adaptable and innovative, this monitor boasts a 2 million to one contrast ratio, perfect for those who mess around with color temperatures.

Because this is a monitor meant for work, the Dell UltraSharp U2412M sacrifices some features that other monitors may supply. For instance, the Ultrasharp U2412M does not have VESA compatibility, unlike the ViewSonic VX2457-MHD. However, the provided stand has full control over tilt and swivel, and can become a vertical monitor if need be. Unfortunately, the viewing angles on the monitor aren’t the best. Compared to other monitors with wide viewing angles, the Dell UltraSharp U2412M seems lacking. For a monitor centered on work, it is imperative you have a clear picture no matter where you look.

Even without a VESA mount, the Dell UltraSharp U2412M’s included stand feels solid, able to rotate to any degree without having the worry of the weight of the monitor making it fall over. However, should the situation arise where for whatever reason your U2412M is no longer in working condition, Dell’s Premium Panel Guarantee will have your back. For up to three years, if your monitor so much has a dead pixel, Dell will replace your monitor with a new one. Though if you are looking for a robust alternative, the ViewSonic VA2855SMH is an excellent choice.
When it comes to port selection, the Dell UltraSharp U2412M certainly is a contender for most diverse selection. With a DVI-D port, display port, VGA port, USB 2.0 port, and four USB ports, the U2412M is almost perfect. There is no HDMI port, which is a deal-breaker for many graphic designers, but Dell put an emphasis on work productivity with this monitor, and this was one of the decisions they chose to put an emphasis on.
As far as value goes, the Dell UltraSharp U2412M is an invaluable asset, for the right buyers. More orientated for work than play, the U2412M brings everything you need to start and finish a long day’s worth of work. For those who need something a bit more than the average work monitor, the Dell UltraSharp U2412M will prove to be an invaluable asset.
With weaker viewing angles than most monitors, and no HDMI support, Dell has made it clear that this monitor is meant for work, emphasizing it with a diverse port selection, anti-eye strain technology, and a three-year replacement program. This monitor is meant for one thing only: optimization of productivity, easily adjustable, you should have no problem getting to work with the Dell UltraSharp U2412M
