ViewSonic’s XG2431 is a great gaming value, with a 240Hz refresh rate, 2.7 ms input lag, and blur reduction, but 1080p resolution and 900:1 contrast compromise image quality.

Overview

The Viewsonic XG2431 is the brand’s mid-range 24-inch gaming monitor, released in 2022. It stands out as the only monitor in the OMNI lineup with a 240-Hz refresh rate. Like the best computer monitors today, it has a flicker-free backlight and adjustable color settings, covering up to 99.5% of the sRGB color space and achieving a dE rating of under 1% when calibrated.

It competes with the best gaming monitors in its class by offering VRR support, G-Sync compatibility, and low framerate compensation. Resolution tops out at 1080p, and the contrast ratio is 900:1. For more options, see our list of the best 24-inch monitors.

Consensus

our Verdict

The ViewSonic XG2431 excels for gamers with its 240Hz refresh rate, low input lag, and effective motion blur reduction. The Blur Busters 2.0 certification enhances eSports appeal. Its 3.9 ms tested response time is better than average, and input lag is low, ranging from 2.7 ms in max Hz mode to 8.8 ms in 60Hz mode.

A versatile design helps it cater to both gaming and office needs, with decent built-in speakers and wide, up to 49º viewing angles. Image quality compromises like the 1080p resolution and limited HDR capabilities make it less ideal for multimedia. Brightness is an average of 322 nits, and contrast is a below-average 900:1, making blacks appear gray. Nevertheless, for its price, the ViewSonic XG2431 is a good value for fps gamers.

ReasonS to Buy

  • Better-than-average response time
    • The 3.9 ms response time puts it in the top 20% of monitors, which is good for gaming

  • Low input lag
    • Its 8.8 ms input lag in 60Hz mode is in the top 20% of tested monitors. Lag goes down to an outstanding 2.7 ms in max refresh rate mode

  • 240Hz native refresh rate
    • VRR support and low framerate compensation ensure smooth, tear-free motion

    • G-Sync compatibility

  • Good viewing angles
    • With viewing angles up to 49 degrees horizontally, it preserves image quality off-center better than ⅔ of competitive monitors

Reason to Avoid

  • Sub-par image quality
    • 900:1 contrast ratio is less than average, meaning blacks aren’t as dark as on rival monitors, and its 1080p resolution puts it in the bottom third of monitors

    • It also lacks a wide color gamut. It only displays 78% of the DCI-P3 color space, less than the average for its category, while some models, like the HP Omen 27QS, achieve over 90%.
