Good image quality, thoughtful ergonomics, and cutting-edge Thunderbolt 4.0 connectivity make the Z32k a good buy for professionals and home office users, but gamers may find better value elsewhere.
The HP Z32K G3 Monitor is one of the brand’s higher-end productivity monitors released in early 2023. It stands out among the best computer monitors today for its Thunderbolt 4 connectivity and USB-C port delivering 100W of power. It also supports data transfer rates of up to 40 Gbps and has Display Port input and output, letting it connect to another 4K monitor for a dual monitor setup.
The 32-inch IPS display offers 99% sRGB color space coverage and 99% DCI-P3 coverage, a bonus for graphic and video professionals. While not the most budget-conscious choice, the Z32K justifies its cost with cutting-edge features.

our Verdict
The HP Z32k G3 is among the pricier productivity monitors, but the 100W power USB-C port and its ability to link with another 4k monitor add value for professional users. Its 432-nit brightness is in the top third of its class, and its 1890:1 contrast ratio is very good for an IPS-based display. Good color accuracy is a strong point for creative professionals. The Z32k G3 achieves sub 2.0 Delta-E scores in sRGB and DCI-P3 color spaces.
Viewing angles are among the best in their category, up to 178 degrees. Ergonomics are excellent, too, with plenty of tilt and height adjustment. Build quality is very good, with a sturdy, rattle-free stand, quality bezel, and low-blue light certification. Its 60 Hz refresh rate isn’t ideal for gaming.
ReasonS to Buy
Great image quality
Brighter than most 4K monitors in its class, with 432-nit peak brightness
Excellent color accuracy and range, 99% sRGB, and 99% DCI-P3 coverage, equaling rivals like the Philips 329P1H.
1890:1 contrast ratio, exceeds ⅔ of monitors in its category
Wide viewing angles
The Z32k maintains a viewable image at angles up to 178 degrees
Great build quality
Included mounting options provide full tilt rotation and up to 150mm of height adjustment
Reason to Avoid
Incomplete Adobe RGB color gamut
Its 87% Adobe RGB score is less than average for high-end monitors, so colors won’t “pop” as much as on other monitors
Below-average refresh rate
Its 60 Hz refresh rate is lower than many high-end monitors, meaning higher framerate content in games and videos may appear choppy
Complex UI
The Z32k offers lots of functionality but can present a steep learning curve for new users

Compared to the curved HP E27M G4 monitor, the Z32k has a larger display, 32” vs 27”, and a higher peak brightness of 432 nits vs. 299 nits. However, it lacks the E27’s curved design. The Z32k also lags slightly in color gamut, having 100% sRGB coverage compared to 123%. See our HP E27M G4 monitor review for more details.

Compared to the ultrawide HP E45C G5, the Z32k has slightly less peak brightness, 432 nits vs. 510 nits, and lower contrast at 1850:1 vs. 2700:1. The Z32K also has a lower refresh rate, 60 Hz vs 165 Hz, but equal 100-Watt USB-C power delivery and a similar array of ports. Unlike the E45C, the Z32K can rotate in portrait mode and can connect via Display Port output to a second monitor. Both HP monitors feature KVM technology for easy switching between devices. Check out our in-depth HP E45C G5 monitor review for more.

The LG 32UN500-W offers more excellent contrast, with 2351:1 vs. the HP’s 1890:1, but lower peak brightness, 375 nits, compared to the HP with 432 nits. The HP Z32 has Thunderbolt 4 ports with DisplayPort and USB alt with up to 100W of power, while the LG 32UN500-W makes do with just one DisplayPort and two HDMI 2.0 ports. Unlike the 32UN500W, the Z32k also comes with a height-adjustable stand. For more detailed ratings, see our LG 32UN500-W review.
