Product Snapshot
Overview
The Samsung UR59C is a 32-inch, entry-level display first announced in 2018. The curved display offers a 4K UHD resolution and a 1500R curvature. While its 2500:1 contrast ratio and 60Hz refresh rate may not quite stand up to what some of the best computer monitors on the market have to offer, the UR59C still holds its own with a 4ms response time and wide 178° viewing angles.
This Samsung display boasts Samsung’s proprietary UHD upscaling technology that upconverts SD, HD, and Full HD content to near 4K quality. Color reproduction is also superb, as the display can depict 1.07 billion colors.

our Verdict
The Samsung UR59C is an office monitor with a 1500R curvature, and its 178° horizontal and vertical viewing angles make for an immersive viewing experience. It also makes it great for group use, and with a 2500:1 contrast ratio that makes it above average compared to other alternatives in its category, its blacks and whites stay well visible in both bright and poorly lit environments.
This display’s 333-nit brightness rating is pretty average compared to other market options, but its 4ms response time is ideal and allows for faster responsiveness. However, it doesn’t have G-Sync or FreeSync support, and its 60Hz refresh rate is also pretty low.
ReasonS to Buy
Good image quality
The UR59C is an impressive productivity display, with good image quality courtesy of its ability to reproduce up to 1.07 billion colors and an impressive 103% coverage of the sRGB color space, placing it in the top 10% of tested monitors.
Its above-average 2500:1 contrast ratio is also good enough for problem-free viewing, even in dark environments.
Deep blacks and bright whites
Blacks and whites are dark and bright on the UR59C, courtesy of its above-average 2500:1 contrast ratio and 139 pixels per inch pixel density.
Wide viewing angles
Being a curved display, the UR59C has wide viewing angles, making it great for group use. Its curvature also provides an immersive viewing experience.
Reason to Avoid
Limited connectivity options
The UR59C only features one DisplayPort, one HDMI port, and one 3.5mm output. It doesn’t have any USB ports.
Low refresh rate
Even though the UR59C is not designed as a gaming monitor, it has a low refresh rate, which is not ideal for gaming.
Average brightness
Its 333-nit brightness rating makes it average compared to other tested monitors.
