The Matrix debuted back in 1999 and was a huge success…not only because of its unique storyline, but also because of its stunning visuals that were an industry first with the “bullet time” effects. Since the trilogy dropped, everyone has copied the movies’ state-of-the-art camera techniques. But it’s been mostly copied by big Hollywood studios with big budgets. But because technology is changing so fast, a few small time artists and producers have now been able to recreate the awesome special effects without the need for the big bucks. Marc Donahue was able to create some “bullet time” visuals using just his homemade array of GoPro cameras. The shutter speeds aren’t perfectly synced, but that only results in even more interesting visuals. His video has gotten more than 30,000 views and that number is still growing as the video picks up loads of viral momentum. Check it out below!
