Looks like the activity monitor sector is heating up to an interestingly competitive fever pitch. We all know about Nike’s Fuel Band. Earlier this week CES gave us the FitBit Flex. Next up to compete for your activity and workout monitoring needs is Withings, maker of the fine digital WS-30 WiFi weight scale, having announced the Smart Activity Tracker.

The Smart Activity Tracker will track your activities, monitor your heart rate, and if all goes as planned, help with your fitness and get you in the shape you are aiming for. The companion iOS app works with the Smart Tracker to help you keep track of things like steps taken, stairs climbed, distance traveled, and calories presumably lost and gained. It will keep tabs on your heart rate and sleep quality with automatic Bluetooth synchronization.
