The Cineskates by all accounts was and is a massive success.  We wrote about the Kickstarter project when it debuted and thanks to us (wink) they managed to reach their funding goal and then some (2400%), making it the second most funded Kickstarter project to date.  Now, thanks to their feverish community (apparently they demanded this product), the team of young entrepreneurs have developed their second ultra useful product, the CineSquid Suction Cup Camera mount system.

So what is it?  In short order a set of section cups that allows you to attach Joby’s flexible GorillaPod Focus Tripod and BallHead X to any flat surface.  But these aren’t your garden variety suction cups.  While Cineskates hasn’t told us the specifics, they’re powerful enough to hold a large sized DSRL onto the side of a car or the belly of an airplane, allowing you to achieve those Hollywood shots, once thought only accomplishable with larger, more expensive and complicated rigs.  There are a total of 3 section cups – one for each leg – and boast a lever that ensures a secure mount.

Cineskates is quick to point out some of the uses of the CineSquid, though we’re confident that there are many more.  Some of these include high-speed chase or automobile cruising scenee, aerial views from the belly of an airplane up to 200mph, scenic or landscape shots from a boat, train or any moving vehicle and time-lapse video with a rock-solid connection to any smooth surface.

The entire CineSquid system, which includes the tripod and ballhead, is available now at for $235. Alternatively, those that already bought the Cineskates, can by the suction cup system for just $120.  They say the first 100 orders will receive early shipping in March, while the rest of you will have to wait until April.
