Every aspiring photographer and videographer is grasped with the challenge of creating visually stunning shots.  What they generally don’t realize is that the pros accomplish this with not only a fair bit of talent, but a boat load of cash, which ultimately equates to gear that the average joe just can’t afford.

That isn’t to say there aren’t alternatives, though.  Case in point are the Cineskates, which received its fair share of funding on Kickstarter.com and should be shipping by now.  To further back that claim is Glidetrack’s Mobislyder.  It’s not a crowd sourced project and at $135 it’s affordable, but not cheap.

The tripod mount is compatible with just about any handheld device, ranging from an iPhone to a GoPro HD helmet camera.  It sports a set of non-skid feet and a dolly like system that glides on a track using a set of smooth coasting ball bearings.  This allows anyone with a tiny bit of camera know how to craft shots that pan from left to right or provide the appearance of a very, very small crane being lifted over head.  The video contains some solid examples, but you’ll quickly see that its range of movement is rather limited given its small size, but a worthy caveat nonetheless since the Mobislyder is pretty portable.

While the Mobislyder will retail for $175, Glidetrack is offering a special launch price of $135 (currently cheaper on their site) until Christmas day or some time around then.  Shipping will commence on December 12th.
