Epic 4G Master

Spawned in the horrendous heat of a Los Angeles winter, James was born with an incessant need to press buttons. Whether it was the car radio, doorbells on Halloween or lights, James pushed, pressed and prodded every button. No elevator was left unscathed, no building intercom was left un-rung, and no person he’s known has been left un-annoyed.

  1. compared to the HTC Touch Pro 2, the Epic is the best. I had 5 different HTC Touch Pro 2's in the last year, the first one was used although purchased as new. The last one was new obtained under warranty – was not any better.

The EPIC off the shelf had no disappearing audio, everything worked!!! I did not even consider an EVO!

    • Buz, I went through three Evos before switching to the Epic. The first had wifi issues, the second had a screen coming loose at one of the corners, and the third was just buggy as hell after the update to Froyo. I was not impressed.
The Epic has been trouble free, and I'm anxious for the upgrade….

    • Actually, as I researched after looking at the comment, he's not wrong, but it's rolling out slowly to people. The test device I have is not updating, but since I did test 2.2 and know it's smoother, I can safely say that it'll run even faster on the Epic 4G. So no harm.

      • James, I'm speaking of the 'Official' release. I downloaded one of these pre-releases to my Evo and bricked it, and I'd suggest staying away from any releases not sponsored by Sprint.
The fact that an update to 2.1, whether it's 2.2 or 2.3, is taking so damned long is making me antsy. I can understand wanting to upgrade as soon as you can, but given my experience with the Evo, it's best to wait. (very good article, by the way!)
