Acer Smartphones betouch and more

Acer has had a heavy hand when it comes to launching laptops, but now the computer maker is ramping things up in their cell phone division with the launch of four new handsets.

The P300 is a Windows Mobile 6.5.3 handset and sports a 3.2-inch WVGA touchscreen, slide out QWERTY keyboard, WiFi and will ship this March.

The P400 has a 3.2-inch HVGA touchscreen, 600MHz Qualcomm 7227 CPU, 3.2 megapixel camera, WiFi and will ship this May.

The beTouch E110 runs the Android OS, has a 2.8-inch touchscreen LCD, 3 megapixel camera, FM tuner and will be available this March.

Last up is the beTouch E400 which has a 3.2-inch HVGA touch resistive screen, Android OS, the same 600mhz processor as the P400, some Smart LED light for messaging indication and will ship this April.

Currently, there is no word on price but it’s unlikely that these phones will ever be smash success in the US – in other words who really cares about them?
