Blaupunkt To Show Off World’s First Car Internet Radio At CES

So if you recall we brought you some breaking news in late December that Blaupunkt would be showing off the World’s first car Internet radio at CES 2009. Unfortunately, due to ’embargo’ reasons we couldn’t release additional details or pics. I hate to say it but the details are still a bit vague, but what we do know is that users can access the miRoamer website (they’re the service provider) and setup their stations for later access in their vehicle, or just browse over 10,000+ stations while on the road (there’s also AM/FM radio). Although the press release (found below) makes no mention of ‘connectivity’, but it might be safe to assume it’s based off 3G or a variation there of, which could mean popping a SIM chip into the headunit.

Note the product images (the Hamburg 600i and New Jersey 600i) are prototypes only and may never make it to market.
