Award: Top Pick/Best Overall
WHY WE LIKE IT: The Harris Spray Professional Spray Bottle is chemically resistant, has an easy-to-adjust nozzle, and comes in a convenient 3 pack for one low price. This makes it an excellent choice for cleaning, car detailing, and anything else that requires the use of heavy chemicals.
The Harris Professional Spray Bottle covers all the bases. It’s made of chemically-resistant plastic, which means that it can hold up to even the harshest of cleaners, it has an adjustable nozzle that you can set to either a light mist or a solid stream, and it has a long trigger and ergonomic grip top that help reduce hand fatigue when spraying.
Plus, there are three 32-ounce bottles largest on this list—which means that you can spend more time spraying and less time refilling the bottle. A spray bottle is one of the top bathroom essentials, so it should be awesome.
Award: Honorable Mention/Best Spray Bottle Head
WHY WE LIKE IT: The Pinnacle Mercantile Plastic Spray Bottles are made in a convenient size, without rubber parts, which makes them portable and helps reduce the chances of leaking—one of the most common complaints that comes along with plastic spray bottles. The anti-leak technology makes these bottles especially useful for anyone who has to take them on the go.
One of the problems users often run into with plastic spray bottles is leakage, but the manufacturers of the Pinnacle Mercantile Plastic Spray Bottles worked hard to solve that problem. The bottles feature a secure gap closure and internal cap casket with no rubber parts—all factors that help prevent wear and leaking.
The bottles aren’t compatible with all chemicals, though, so you’ll have to watch what you’re using. The manufacturer recommends using only water-based chemicals that are compatible with the HDPE plastic used to make the bottles.
At just 16 ounces, the Pinnacle only holds half as much as the Harris Professional bottles, but the 16 oz volume is still one of the largest on our list. However, like the Harris Professional bottles, the Pinnacle Mercantile adjusts from a light mist to a solid stream spray. The nozzle also has an “off” position. This sprayer will help you clean the best shower curtain with ease.
Award: Best Colored Spray Bottle
WHY WE LIKE IT: The blue, pink, and purple colors of the spray bottles stand out against the clear plastic of the rest of the bottles on this list. Their small size and unique style makes them a good choice for hair stylists or anyone else in the beauty industry.
The thing that made these plastic spray bottles stand out the most was their vibrant colors. While it has no bearing on their usage, of course, the blue, pink, and purple colors gave a little life to a household necessity that can be quite dull, to be honest.
Like the others on this list, these plastic bottles are adjustable to both a mist and a stream setting, so you can toggle back and forth depending on your needs. Spray when cleaning the best lighted makeup mirror and stream for tougher jobs.
You have to be careful with what chemicals you’re using, though. Users report that “harsh” chemicals like bleach can break down both the plastic bottle and the nozzle, speeding up the wear of the bottle and, eventually, negatively affecting its performance.
Award: Best Glass Spray Bottles
WHY WE LIKE IT: The simple fact that these bottles are made of glass makes them stand out from the rest, but we were mostly impressed with the way the amber color protects anything inside of the bottles from UV light. This is especially important when working with photosensitive items, like essential oils.
While comparing a set of glass spray bottles to plastic ones isn’t exactly apples to apples, we thought these amber bottles were worth including on our list for several reasons. Unlike some plastics, these glass bottles can hold up to all kinds of chemicals, so you don’t have to worry about what types of cleaners you’re putting in them.
The amber color of the bottles also makes the glass UV resistant, a feature that doesn’t come with clear plastic bottles. Because of this, you can store photosensitive liquids, like essential oils, in the bottles without worrying about them losing their effectiveness.
You might consider getting the Amber Glass Spray Bottle set of eight bottles in different sizes of 16 oz, 8 oz, 4 oz, and 2 oz, so that you always have an ideal size to use.
The downsides, of course, are that glass is heavier than plastic and a lot more fragile. But the good news is that, like the plastic options, the sprayers of these bottles are designed to improve comfort and prevent fatigue while spraying. You can keep it in the best shower caddy for convenience.
Award: Best Spray Bottle for Water
WHY WE LIKE IT: The PETE1 plastic used for this empty spray bottles is a soft plastic that makes these bottles one of the lightest on the list. They’re perfect for carrying around the house while you’re cleaning and moving from room to room.
These 8 ounce Bar5F empty clear bottles are the perfect size for small cleaning jobs. They’re small and lightweight and have a fully adjustable nozzle that you can use to change the spray from a targeted stream to a light mist, like most of the others on this list. The mist is great for freshening up the best shower curtain liner and such. Another important feature on these Bar5F empty spray bottles is the anti-leak mechanism on the spray head that ensures there’s no waste, and keeps your hands dry.
The downside is that, like some of the other bottles, you have to make sure you’re only using liquids that are compatible with the plastic. Because PETE1 is a softer plastic, it’s more sensitive to chemicals, like acetone, which isn’t recommended for use with these bottles. Now, what if you want to chop fruits, vegetables, and even nuts to tiny pieces, what kitchen gadget would you use? The best chopper.
Award: Best Spray Bottle for Light Use
WHY WE LIKE IT: The Tolco Spray Bottles come in a frosted pink, green, and blue 3-pack that’s the most wallet-friendly set on the list. If you’re looking for small bottles that are easy to carry around and get the job done on a budget, you’ll find them here.
Because most spray bottles are clear or white plastic, it always catches our eye when they come in different colors; and even better, it’s not just the plastic bottle that’s colored, but the nozzle, as well. Aside from that, the bottles are also extremely functional. They’re 8 ounces, which makes them easy to carry around with you, and have a trigger mechanism that’s really easy to engage.
But keep in mind that these bottles are best for light use. They’re not meant for professional or commercial use, as they’re made of lightweight plastic and users report that they’re not durable enough to stand up to constant use.
Award: Best Spray Bottle for Ironing
WHY WE LIKE IT: At 8 ounces, these bottles are one of the smallest on our list (tied with the Tolco bottles). Their small size makes them perfect for household chores, like ironing, watering plants, and cleaning the windows.
The Rayson spray bottle is designed with an ergonomically correct comfort grip that helps make spraying a cinch and reduces fatigue. According to the manufacturer, this also reduces the chances of developing carpal tunnel with repeated use.
The 8 ounce size makes the bottle perfect for small chores like ironing and cleaning the windows, but, like others on this list, you have to be careful with what you put in it. The lightweight plastic is not compatible with corrosive chemicals like bleach and acetone, so you have to stick to water-based chemicals, or plain water, only.
There are so many different plastic spray bottles out there, ranging from 8 ounces to four times that size. We didn’t make determinations on size—we included several size options so that you can choose the best one—but we did narrow down the list by choosing only spray bottles that have adjustable nozzles and ergonomic designs. While some are made for comfort more than others, all the options on the list are designed to help reduce stress and fatigue on your hands when spraying. Beyond that, we also took into consideration value or bang for buck. All of these spray bottles are extremely affordable and most come in multipacks, which is convenient if you have a large home or different use cases with different liquids.
