SmartMio

Athletes are always training to enhance their performance while us mere mortals have a harder time trying to reach our performance goals. It’s probably because it’s their job to perform better, but now you can at least try to give your muscles that extra boost without having to overdo it at the gym with SmartMio, the world’s first connected and wearable sports muscle stimulator. It provides on-to-go workouts that seamlessly integrate into whatever training program that you already have and will target significant muscle strength and endurance gains in just 6-8 weeks, claims its Indiegogo campaign.

SmartMio

To boost your performance, SmartMio uses Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) that copies what your brain does when it transmits nerve impulses to engage your muscles during a workout. So with SmartMio, you can basically stimulate your muscles anywhere you want, whenever since you can wear it anywhere you go. The device works with your smartphone and its SmartMio app (Android and iOS compatible), which has stimulation programs for all fitness levels.

The wearable device then sends out electrical impulses via self-sticking electrode pads you can wear under your clothes.┬áBut it’s most efficient when you integrate it into your regular workout training plan and will speed up and optimize muscle recovery so you won’t be as sore during your toughest days at the gym. Other uses include: muscle toning, isolating and targeting specific muscle groups, can improve blood circulation, and it can help prevent injuries and trauma with more efficient warm ups. The Early Bird special is still available for $89 with deliveries estimated to be November 2014.
