According to scientific studies, bright light to your eyes (from the sun vs a light box) supposedly “wakes up the brain,” making you more alert, engaged and energetic. So how to you measure just how much sunlight you need? Simple…by using SunSprite! It’s the first wearable device that will measure your daily exposure to bright light. Created by GoodLux (who are a group of Harvard-trined minds), the SunSprite will help you regulate circadian rhythm and can improve your sleep habits.
The wearable device is about the size of a flash drive and is completely solar powered so you don’t have to worry about annoying cables. You can easily clip it to your clothes, purse, wallet or anything else you’d like. Once you’re out and about, it’ll measure the amounts of bright light you’re exposed to and then alerts you when you’ve reached your personal ideal amount. For additional analytics, it syncs with its iOS app, but can be used on its own thanks to its LED lights that will indicate when you’ve hit your optimal light limit. Users have seen results in just a few days, making them more awake and in a better mood.
