Even though it’s just a concept, the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo proved to be the best concept car of 2012. Building on the popularity, Porsche has been releasing videos of the concept, showcasing how it handles on the road and now they’re showing us an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the making of the concept. The video shows it from a full-scale clay model to the final product we saw on stage at the Paris Motor Show.
The video also features Porsche style director Michael Mauer and their general manager advanced design style Mitja Borkert explaining about what went into creating the Sport Turismo Concept. As the station wagon version of the Panamera, the Sport Turismo has a totally distinctive look nose to tail. The video shows the designers touching on key elements like the Porsche-signature raised front fenders, the wide rear shoulders, the front wing inspired by the 918 spider. It’s still unknown if the Panamera Sport Turismo will make it into production, but the release of the video might be a hint that it just might be a future vision of Porsche’s automotive future for their Panamera.
