2014 BMW M6 Gran Coupe Released
BMW released their new 2014 M6 Coupe ahead of when it’ll hit sales lots sometime next summer. The coupe is supposed to be a bit more practical for day-to-day driving. Taking their massive monster M6 Coupe, BMW turned it into a new big-body four-door model. But despite being more family friendly in terms of aesthetics, the Gran Coupe still packs a punch in terms of power with its 4.4-liter M TwinPower Turbo V8 that pushes out 650 ponies as it goes from 0-60 mph in just over 4 seconds, with an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph. The engine actually produces about 10 more percent than the output of the old MV10, with the key to the engine’s prowess being those turbocharges. The engine is also aided by direct fuel injection, a relatively high fuel to air compression ratio of 10:1 and BMW’s Valvetronic valve timing technology.Breaking power comes by some massive 15.7-inch brake discs up front and 15.6-inch discs at the rear that are housed within a unique set of 20-inch forged wheels.
The interior features a distinctive M cockpit that perfectly blends of a sports car with modern luxury with leather trim standard, along with Alcantara and carbon fiber highlights. The M6 Gran Coupe also features an M sports steering wheel, an M driver’s footrest and instrument cluster, and an iDrive control system with a 10.2-inch display. Final pricing for the new M6 Gran Coupe hasn’t been announced yet, but expect it to still be a hefty figure comparable to the M6 Coupe.
