Lamborghini is quite happy with the public’s reception of their Aventador, with more than 1,300 coupes sold to date, and figured those numbers would increase if they released a roadster version of their highly popular supercar. And they’ve recently announced that their newest member of its supercar family will indeed be the super sexy Aventador LP700-4 Roadster.
To create a roadster version of their supercar coupe, they created a two-piece removable roof that’s made from carbon fiber and weighs in at just over 13 lbs. These pieces must be removed by hand and they can be stored in the front luggage compartment. It also employs a powered rear window and a front-mounted wind deflector (that can also be removed and stored if not desired).
The topless Aventador features the same 6.5-liter, 700-hp V12 of its coupe brethren that’s modulated via a seven-speed single-clutch pattleshift gearbox. It has a 0-62 mph time of 3.0 seconds and a top speed of 218 mph. It’ll be offered for $381,000 and is available for order worldwide.
