It’s hard to keep secrets these days on the web. Information on Mercedes-Benz’s upcoming CLS63 AMG Shooting Brake was put up on their German consumer site and Car and Driver peeps were all over it before the information magically disappeared again. Besides a few images, information that was gathered was that it will use the same twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V8 found behind the headlights of the four-door variant, pushing out 518 ponies with 516 lb.-ft. of torque. Other info gathered by the savvy auto journalists was that Mercedes-Benz would also offer customers a performance package for those who want power, with figures like 550 hp and 590 lb.-ft. of torque. There will also be a seven-speed Speedshift automatic transmission will handle gear swapping duties, though the traditional torque converter has been scrapped in favor of a computer-controlled clutch. If you like what you see in the video, don’t get your hopes up too much because chances are the car won’t make it out to the States, since the company has made it quite clear that that standard CLS Shooting Brake is not meant for Stateside consumers.
