Sony long resisted the reign of Apple and their iPod. Although they’ve been building compatible devices for sometime their latest system, the CMT-Z100iR screams of complete defeat. The pics above looks a little on the rendered side, but according to Sony Insider it’s the real deal. Aside from the obvious (i.e. the iPod/iPhone dock) the desktop stereo system boast what appears to be a slot loading CD player, clock, USB input and touch panel controls. I’d gander a guess and say it will come with a credit card sized remote. Output is said to be 20w x2 courtesy of an S-Master amp, which ain’t bad for a little desktop system. Sleek, svelte – nice job Sony.
Price has yet to be announced but SI pegs it at around $150 – $200. I’d say they ain’t far off, but I’d manage my expectations and go on the higher side.
