HTC Launches An All New Touch Cruise With ‘Footprint’ GPS Tagging

HTC refreshed their Touch Cruise handset today by adding a bevy of features, which includes a variety of connectivity options (I think there are a variety of versions available depending on the Country you’re in), WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, 3.2MP camera, microSD slot and 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen. The biggest edition to the Touch Cruise is something the company is calling Footprints. Utilizing GPS and A-GPS, travelers will be able to snap a pic with a geo tag embedded and if they so opt, add a voice or written note. All of this gets wrapped in a ‘Polaroid’ like skin.
HTC has also produced a ‘car specific’ cradle, which when the Cruise is placed into brings up shortcuts and saved GPS items for on the go perusal. Apparently, the Touch Cruise can also ‘Footprint’ indoors, which probably means it uses the A-GPS (i.e. cellular towers and WiFi) to determine your location, which may mean less accurate tags.
The HTC Touch Cruise will hit the Worldwide market this Spring.
