Watch out Apple, because SanDisk has introduced a rival to the iPod Nano. The Sansa m200 offers the same capacity, and get this, at a cheaper price. The 4GB player can be picked up for $200, $50 less then the 4GB iPod. Unfortunately, it doesn’t sport a spiffy color screen, or a sleek black or white look. I will say that the Sansa m200 does appear more rugged and perhaps could have the people over at ArsTechnica (the ones that destroy the iPod Nano) meeting their match.
Its feature set actually goes a little further then the Nano by offering an FM Radio, voice recorder, and WMA 10 DRM support for download services like Napster (course Apple would never offer this unless they wanted to kill the iTunes store). The m200 runs on a AAA battery. Some might see this as a benefit, where as I see it as a negative; I would rather have a built in battery.
The SanDisk m200 is also currently available in smaller capacities (512MB, 1GB, 2GB) and can be picked up for cheaper.
Grew up back East, got sick of the cold and headed West. Since I was small I have been pushing buttons - both electronic and human. With an insatiable need for tech I thought "why not start a blog focusing on technology, and use my dislikes and likes to post on gadgets."
