Nano: A prefix meaning one-billionth – not quite, but almost.
Apple’s new Nano iPods are sickly cool. Sporting a much slimmer look then mini (which are now void from the iPod line up), a capacity of 2GB or 4GB (flash drive), and a color display; there simply is no competition. The rest of the device is all iPod, with the standard ‘Click Wheel’ and iPod interface. The device weighs in at 1.5 ounces and measures just 3.5 X 1.6 x .27. You can upload album art, or your own pics to be displayed on the 1.5 color LCD. There are a number of accessories available, including a new one that conveniently hides your headphone cord in the devices necklace attachment.
It also looks like you can get the device in a glossy black, sorta like the U2 iPod. I should also mention that it looks like Apple is also partnering with some top car manufacturers to have iPod intergration an option. Check it out before you buy: http://www.apple.com/ipodnano/ipodyourcar/
The 2GB is going for $199, while the 4GB is runnning for $249. Do the math and you are paying $99 a GB for the 2GB and $62 for the 4GB. 50 bucks more for twice the capacity – ah….HELL YA! Much like many of Apple’s products you can expect a price drop on these following the Christmas season, probably sometime in January.
