Here’s some interesting information on what is probably the next iteration of Amazon’s Kindle. A recent article put some specifics to the rumors: While the device won’t be getting a color screen (or touchscreen for that matter), it will have a sharper resolution and a slimmer profile (I’m curious to see how that’s even possible).

Now Engadget has posted an image of an internal Amazon device listing for a Kindle with 3G + WiFi, codenamed “Shasta.” (It’s a book reference, by the way.) So there’s going to at least be a 3G version and a 3G + WiFi version — and maybe Amazon will now be keeping in line with the iPad by selling a WiFi only version at reduced cost. We only need to wait until August to find out.
