Additional rumors surfaced today regarding the Slim PS3. Supposedly Sony has already signed a manufacturing agreement with both Foxconn and Pegatron in time for it to hit store shelves as early as July. I have a hard time believing this since it gives Sony and its retailers little to no time to clear out both the 80GB and 160GB models, unless of course they go ahead and align the pricing on the 160GB model to sell the slim version concurrently.
Apparently, there is also a rumor floating around that the Slim PS3 will be the final iteration of the console before it is replaced by an entirely new system. Yeah, that’s pretty far fetched since the PS3 is years away from peaking, studios are still adapting to its hardware and Sony announced a motion controller for the current console.
