The Nike Fuelband is a revolutionary looking device. That said, it’s largely just a pedometer, but a very neat looking one at that. We tested it out upon launch and while it most certainly provides some level of motivation, the device is far from perfect, and by that we mean that it’s not very accurate. However, we’ve heard from some users that they’re experience was anything but like ours, but hey, one man’s garbage is another man’s gold.
So if you’ve got plans to grab a Fuelband this holiday, you might like to know that Nike just released two new colors. Okay, they’re not exactly colors, but you should be picking up what we’re laying down at this point. Nevertheless, instead of the matt black finish, you can now also choose between white ice and black ice. If you so opt for these colors, you’ll receive a Fuelband that is translucent in nature, much like, well, ice. We can only hope that Nike has tweaked the hardware and software a bit to improve accuracy, but that’s a big if. So at the end of the day, you’re merely getting a slightly different looking Fuelband that might not mar as easily as the launch color, black.
The Fuelband is available now for $149. Of note, there are three physical sizes. The small has a lower capacity battery, where the two other sizes should be the same.
Grew up back East, got sick of the cold and headed West. Since I was small I have been pushing buttons - both electronic and human. With an insatiable need for tech I thought "why not start a blog focusing on technology, and use my dislikes and likes to post on gadgets."
