Slicing and dicing an opponent in most games is more like something from a cut scene. And by that we mean the way the opponent dies, or falls to their death is predetermined. Cut up, down, left, right (see what we did there) and they’ll fall to one side as if they we’re stabbed with a spoon. However, that’s anything but the case in the next Metal Gear game, “Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance”.
Pardon the pun, but the game looks to be a cut above the rest of the Metal Gear games and many other 3rd person oriented games of this ilk. Although we’re gonna reserve our judgement until we get our hands on “Assassin’s Creed 3″. That being said, the above video shows just how intricate the blade action in “Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance” can actually be. For instance, slice a watermelon in 6 parts and that’s exactly how it will fall apart. It ultimately boils down to an assassin like gameplay, which will surely be mixed with amazing graphical elements, dialogue, and hopefully a story that makes the game stand alone. It’s just too bad that we’ll have to wait until 2013.
