With the approaching start of the NFL season right around the corner it only seems appropriate that Nintendo would be filing a patent for a new Wii Football controller.  Presumably a soft Nerf style football, the above image depicts slots for where the Wii remote and nunchuk would fit.  A hand strap is in place for safety but how could you not want to throw this thing?  While this patent seems extra gimmicky, more worthless products have definitely seen the assembly line.  According to sources, the ball will be able to sense running and throwing movements making it the most realistic football controller to date.
