Critics gave the Lepow Z1 mixed reviews, endorsing it only for mobile office use. They applauded its Full HD resolution, slim design, and low input lag. However, they criticized its inaccurate colors and small color palette, which pales in comparison to the Lepow Z1 Gamut. Additionally, they couldn’t recommend this device for gaming because of its slow response time.

our Verdict

Product testers had mixed feelings about the Lepow Z1 but endorsed it for mobile office use, and hailed its portable design. Professional reviewers from Windows Central were disappointed that it doesn’t have a built-in rechargeable battery, although it can get power from a laptop via a USB-C port or wall outlet to reduce the drain on the connected device. Testers at Notebook Check explained that it handles reflections pretty well, and it clocked in at a decent 224 nits in HDR peak brightness tests, making it a good choice for moderately lit indoor areas. Like bigger models such as the Lenovo D27-30, this monitor has a Full HD 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, and reviewers were delighted by its text clarity. Although the monitor has a relatively low 9.1 ms input lag, top experts don’t recommend it for gaming because of its painfully slow 20.8 ms raise-and-fall response time. The Z1 also has a small color gamut, covering just 67.7% of the sRGB color space and providing inaccurate colors.

Market Context | – | The Lepow Z1 has better connectivity options than the Dell C1422H. While the Lepow Z1 features mini-HDMI and USB-C ports, the Dell device relies on USB-C ports and doesn’t have an HDMI interface. The Dell C1422H, on the other hand, has a more sturdy, ergonomic stand. | The Lepow Z1 is very similar to the Lepow C2, as both monitors have an IPS panel and matte coating. However, the Lepow C2 has a slightly bigger 15-inch screen and boasts a mini DisplayPort input, which is not present on the Lepow Z1. | While the Lepow Z1 supports DisplayPort Alt mode via a single USB-C port, the ViewSonic VG1655 supports DisplayPort Alt mode on both its USB-c ports. The ViewSonic display also has a more ergonomic stand that supports multiple adjustment levels. |
