The Brother MFC-L3770CDW Laser printer is one of the best laser printers out there, no matter the price point. With features like NFC, an automatic document feeder, and two-sided duplex printing, it is a great printer for a small office. However, if you need to print a lot, the Epson EcoTank may be a better option, but it is not cheap.

The Brother MFC L3770CDW laser printer is fast both when it comes to scanning and printing. The Brother HL-L8260CDW and Brother HL-5100DN both print much faster at 33ppm and 42 ppm, respectively. The manufacturer advertises 25 PPM print speed (B W), but that obviously will depend on what you’re printing. If you need something even faster, just get the Brother MFCL2750DW instead.
Brother MFC L3770CDW laser printer’s print quality isn’t bad, but it isn’t perfect either. It is a multifunction printer, so the print quality should be fine for both a small office and personal use. But, because it’s a color laser printer, you should keep your expectations in check regarding print quality by using color laser paper. It won’t be as good as a full-fledged inkjet printer (e.g., the Canon Pixma TS8320). Still, it’s almost as good as some of the best laser printers out there at any price point.
It’s a color laser printer. So obviously, energy efficiency is not something that you’re going to get. However, toner cartridge efficiency is great, and you get a high yield out of every toner cartridge. And it is compatible with a lot of different toners (TN223BK, TN223C, TN223M, TN223Y, TN227BK, TN227C, TN227M, and TN227Y). So you shouldn’t face any problem finding replacement toner cartridges.
The Brother MFC-L3770CDW is also very versatile and includes a 250-sheet adjustable paper tray. And as with every wireless printer, it has Wi-Fi connectivity. Two-sided printing (duplex printing) is a pretty handy feature. However, it seems that some of the more recent firmware updates from Brother disabled toner cartridges reset functionality. That’s a very shady move and could be to boost sales of their more expensive toner cartridges. And that’s not good at all.
For a small business that provides print service, it doesn’t really make sense to buy a color laser printer that costs $650. That’s why the value proposition of the Brother MFC-L3770CDW is actually quite poor. Especially when you can buy something like the HP OfficeJet Pro 9025, a more efficient and overall better inkjet printer, at less than half its price.
The Brother MFC-L3770CDW Laser printer is actually not that bad of a color laser printer. But Brother’s pricing and a few shady practices do hold the printer back a lot.
