Sanyo just launched the PLC-XF71, a projector that the company claims is the brightest in its class.  So what are we talking?  10,000 lumens, 3000:1 contrast ratio, and a max resolution of 1024×768.  Sanyo also implemented something they call Active Maintenance Filter (AMF) system, which detects air quality and implements a filtrating system as needed, resulting in less maintenance and increased reliability.

The Sanyo PLC-XF71 will ship sometime this month and cost $5 short of $17k.
