The Razer Blade 15 RTX 2070 Gaming Laptops should have no problem being declared one of the best thin and light gaming laptops as it only weighs a measly four and a half pounds. This usually means a smaller battery and thus shorter battery life, but this isn’t the case with the Razer Blade 15 Advanced. A carry over from the base model, the advanced also keeps the expansive and convenient port selection. If you want some other great options, our best gaming laptops list is a good starting point.

Why We Like It – Razer Blade 15 RTX 2070

The Razer Blade 15 RTX 2070 offers even better performance on video games thanks to the upgraded graphics card than the base model does. The 16GB of RAM is another solid touch that allows you to run multiple windows and applications at once without any noticeable slowdowns.

  • Good Battery Life
  • Expansive Port Selection
  • 300Hz Refresh Rate
  • Expensive
  • Runs Hot
  • Poor Webcam Quality

The advanced model of the Razer Blade possesses an Intel Core i7 processor, a Nvidia GeForce RTX graphics card, 16GB of RAM, and 512 GB of storage. It’s pretty much the same as the base model, but with a much better graphics card for full HD, graphically-advanced gaming performance. And if a high performance graphics card is what you’re looking for, check out the Acer Predator Triton 500 RTX 2060 too.

While the battery life on last year’s base model was just shy of six hours, the battery life on this advanced model clocks in at about six and a half hours. While that may sound low if you’re using a MacBook Pro, it’s well above the gaming laptop average of four hours. You should be able to get in a quality gaming session with this laptop. You can also check out the Gigabyte Aero 15 for a laptop with even greater battery life.

The Razer Blade 15 RTX 2070 has all the ports you need for on the go or stay at home gaming. On the right is a Thunderbolt 3 port, a USB C port, a USB 3.1 A port, an HDMI 2.0 input, a Mini DisplayPort 1.4, and a Kensington lock slot. The left has two additional USB 3.1 A ports, a headphone jack, and an Ethernet port. It’s, all-around, the same as the base model, but you can check out the Asus Rog Zephyrus S Ultra Slim Gaming Laptop if you don’t really need an expansive port selection (but still a really good one).

Build Quality

The Razer Blade 15 RTX 2070 has a much more refined keyboard layout with arrow keys moved out of the way while you’re typing. Further, instead of black, the Razer Blade 15 RTX 2070 comes in a mercury white option too if you’d like to go with something a little different. But be aware that the laptop does tend to run hot while playing high end games, so make sure you’re ventilating properly.

The Razer Blade 15 RTX 2070 is a high-end gaming laptop and translates to a hefty price-tag, as you can plainly see. Still, you get a lot of quality features. The panel contains a 300Hz refresh rate for amazingly speedy performance and the graphics card will bring real-time ray tracing to games. Unfortunately, for all these quality features, the built-in webcam isn’t the greatest.

Razer Blade 15 RTX 2070 Wrap Up

There’s a lot to love about the Razer Blade 15 RTX 2070. The refresh rate is among the highest we’ve seen, and the battery life is a solid two and a half hours better than the average for gaming laptops. All of these come at a pretty hefty price though. Whether all these features are worth the $2,200.00 price tag we’ll have to leave up to you to decide.
