JBL unveiled their On Air Wireless AirPlay speaker dock today. Unlike other speakers docks of a time before, this dock includes Apple’s AirPlay tech, which allows you to wirelessly play music from any iOS 4.2 or later device, which includes the iPod, iPhone or iPad as well as a Mac or PC computer running iTunes 10.1.
A full color display shows off album artwork, artist and song, while a set of controls enable play/pause, skip forward/backward. A clock with dual alarms make it well suited as a bedside companion and an FM radio with RDS and 10 presets insure that the tunes are always pumping. The USB port however, is used for firmware updates only.
The unique HALO (horizontal acoustic level optimization) design is said to deliver full and rich sound, but we’ll reserve that judgement until we get our hands on one sometime later this Spring when it launches.
Grew up back East, got sick of the cold and headed West. Since I was small I have been pushing buttons - both electronic and human. With an insatiable need for tech I thought "why not start a blog focusing on technology, and use my dislikes and likes to post on gadgets."
