Sealing the proverbial deal usually just involves a myriad of courtship like activities. We’re talking dinner, drinks, and perhaps even a show. But sometimes that is just not enough to get your lady friend to concede to a night of lurid affair. And while a James Bond rotating bar along with a set of rough man good looks would be nice, it’s probably fair to say that’s a bit out of reach for the common man. The answer?
The Insteon network connected light bulb. This LED bulb, which apparently uses just 8W of electricity yet emits light equivalent to a 60W-100W incandescent bulb, connects to your home’s wireless network, allowing you to control it (dim, on/off) with just a flick of your iPhone or Android device. But don’t go thinking you can buy this $30 bulb and instantly manipulate it with your smartphone. You’ll also need to invest in their Smartlink hub, which acts as a bridge between your router and the bulb. It costs $100 and connects via Ethernet, which is the last thing you probably wanted to hear, but on a positive note, LED bulbs should last for years and years to come, so after sometime you’ll begin to see a return on your investment (if you know what we mean).
The Insteon Light Bulbs are available now.
Grew up back East, got sick of the cold and headed West. Since I was small I have been pushing buttons - both electronic and human. With an insatiable need for tech I thought "why not start a blog focusing on technology, and use my dislikes and likes to post on gadgets."
