Headphones — 11 March 2009

Klipsch, bearing no shame, is pitching their just released headphones as ‘recession-proof’. At a price of $49 for the S2s and $79 for the S4s, I’d say ‘hardly’. Most folks are used to the junky white iPod headphones that are included with their MP3 player and at best will drop $20 on a new pair in the event that those break. In addition to their proprietary eartips that they claim reduce outside ambient noise all the while providing long lasting comfort, the S2 and S4 headphones use a moving coil designs with controlled damping that is said to produce smooth and rich sound. The S4s are available in piano black and silver and will launch this April. Where as the S2s are available in just piano black and will hit this July.
