It’s easy to see why the YG300 Mini Portable LED (Meer Pico) is considered one of the best iPhone projectors out there; its diminutive size makes it effortlessly able to fit in your pocket and still has a variety of connections, as well as producing good picture quality in dark spaces. Its lack of a built-in battery makes outdoor use limited, but this portable projector packs a lot of punch in a very small frame.

Why We Like It – YG300 Mini Portable LED (Meer Pico)

The YG300 Mini Portable LED (Meer Pico) is extremely portable and small, easily able to fit in your pocket. The mini projector still hosts several connection options and quality 1080p resolution support despite its size. With its portability, it could be similar to a wireless projector,

Pros
  • Ultra-portable
  • Multiple connections
  • LED display
Cons
  • Native 240p resolution
  • No internal battery
  • Low maximum brightness

Performance/Resolution

Due to its size, the YG300 Mini Portable LED (Meer Pico) only produces images in native 240p resolution, though it supports 1080p with an 800:1 contrast ratio through its LED bulb, which only requires 10-24w. You’ll want to read our Optoma ML750 review for a projector with similar specs.

The projector does have built-in speakers, but these are easily replaced with external speakers through its 3.5mm jack. According to customer reviews, the mini projector does produce a fair amount of noise. For superior quality in a similar size, the GooDee Mini Projector is one of our favorite projectors. If you want a projector that is built to impress and one of the best laser projectors out there, check out the Epson Home Cinema LS100.

Brightness/Lumens

The YG300 Mini Portable LED (Meer Pico) is light on power consumption and therefore has a low maximum brightness. The most you can get from this home cinema system is 400 lumens, making it unfit to operate in any level of ambient light. This is unlike the Crosstour Mini projector, which has 3500 lumens to work with. Using a sufficiently dark environment, the YG300 will still serve you well – but if the low brightness is a problem, check out the TOPVISION Mini Projector, capable of outputting 4,000 lumens, or the QKK Mini Projector, with 5,500 lumens.

Adjustability/Viewing Angle

The YG300 Mini Portable LED (Meer Pico) requires at least 1m of space between it and the projection surface, to produce a 24” screen size. This distance can be increased to up to 3m, producing an impressive 80” screen size. Plus, it’ll work on any homemade projector screen, too. The focusing ring on the side of the projector allows for optimal image quality, and the remote control can also be used to adjust the settings. The projector produces an aspect ratio of 4:3, or 16:9, somewhat like the Artlii Pico projector, which has an aspect ratio of 4:3, as many Pico projectors do.

Durability

With such a small size, the YG300 Mini Portable LED (Meer Pico) needs to be designed to travel. The tiny case is sturdy and supports HDMI, USB, AV, and SD card connections. The video projector uses an LED bulb, offering superior performance and efficiency over an LCD projector. The LED projector uses only about 10-24w, and the bulb has an estimated life of 20,000 hours. Meer offers a 1-year warranty on their products.

Value

With its multiple connections in a well-designed, extremely portable case, the YG300 Mini Portable LED (Meer Pico) is a good value for the low price tag. The mini projector does require an external battery bank, making the low price even more appealing. While it requires an environment free of ambient light, this home theater system delivers quality images and videos, while generating little heat and consuming little power.

YG300 Mini Portable LED (Meer Pico) Wrap Up

The YG300 Mini Portable LED (Meer Pico) requires a specific environment with an external battery and very low light. However, even with a native 240p resolution, the projector does support 1080p and produces a quality display on up to 80” screen. However, the real draw of this projector is the number of connections it can support while retaining its ultra-portable shape. Don’t be fooled by its size, this projector delivers an excellent viewing experience in a frame smaller than your smartphone.
