While there are a number of great USB 3.0 flash drives like the Kingston DataTraveler out there, the SanDisk Cruzer Glide CZ60 is still an amazing USB flash drive with a bunch of different features. It offers you with both password and encryption to protect your files from any unwanted eyes while its solid capless design makes sure the USB connector is not damaged when not in use. Thus, with all that at a very affordable price, the SanDisk Cruzer Glide CZ60 may just be the very best USB flash drive out there.
Offering both security and large storage options, the SanDisk Cruzer Glide CZ60 is among the best USB Flash Drives out there. It features a capless design with a slider to pull out the USB connector and paired with SanDisk’s very own SecureAccess software, it transfers files easily through the USB 2.0 interface.
Making sure your files are always safe and backed up, the SanDisk Cruzer Glide CZ60 comes packed with the SecureAccess software with 128-bit AES encryption and also 2GB of online storage via YuuWaa. This will keep your files away from harm whether it’s from unwanted people or a hardware malfunction.
However, the SanDisk CZ60 USB drive does fall behind when it comes to it’s transfer speed. Having only USB 2.0 compatibility unlike the Kingston DataTraveler and the PNY Turbo USB flash drives, it comes with read speeds of around 21.61MB/s and a write speed averaging around 7.96MB/s. This is also potentially slower than the SanDisk Cruzer CZ36 thumb drive and considering its price, the Kingston DataTraveler would be a more faster choice.
The SanDisk Cruzer Glide CZ60 does however provide you with an amazing amount of options when it comes to the storage space. You can start from 16GB and go all the way to 256Gb depending on how much space you need, making sure you never run out of space. Spare some time to also look at a USB that is 35x faster than the old USB 2.0 drive. Read more in our Sandisk extreme go review.
With a capless design that also features a slider mechanism to pull out the USB connector, the SanDisk Cruzer Glide CZ60 is pretty durable when it comes to protecting the USB connector. And despite having a plastic body, it still holds on pretty long and also provides you with a built-in space to connect a key-ring. This will make sure that you never lose the USB flash drive and that it stays with you at all times. There is also an LED indicator which can prove useful in helping to know whether or not the flash drive is connected. Overall, the SanDisk Cruzer Glide CZ60 features a durable design that protects the USB connector and makes the USB drive overall very convenient to transport. Plus, the red and black color scheme adds to the sleek visual appeal of this thumb drive.
You can get the 32GB version of the SanDisk Cruzer Glide CZ60 at around $7 which is pretty much the same as many other 32GB USB flash drives. And while you may not be getting the USB 3.0 compatibility, with password and encryption protection and also a pretty sturdy and convenient design, the SanDisk Cruzer Glide CZ60 might be worth the price for you. That is if you value security over speed. As mentioned previously, the read and write speeds on the CZ60 are a tad bit slower than other available drives. Before purchasing any of these USB flash drives, definitely assess your own needs and/or how valuable the data that you’d use the drive for.
It isn’t the fastest USB flash drive out there and it doesn’t have the most premium build either. And so at a price similar to the Kingston DataTraveler and a number of other USB drives, the SanDisk Cruzer Glide CZ60 is a USB flash drive offers you a variety of storage options with a great amount of system compatibility and an easy to use as well as durable design. And so with all that the SanDisk Cruzer Glide CZ60 is a flash drive that values security over transfer speed, and if you’re okay with that it may just be a great pick for you. But, if you want both the security and a moderately greater speed, you might be better off with the SanDisk Cruzer CZ36.
