Performance

The performance of this monitor is great for gaming due to the high resolution 4K IPS panel, 95 percent DCI-P3 color gamut, and up to 144Hz refresh rate. Fast response time and refresh rate are important factors while gaming, and this monitor has it all. It has a 1ms response time, which is excellent in first person shooters. You can also use it with any graphics card that supports Nvidia G Sync and AMD Radeon FreeSync technologies. Design

Like most gaming monitors, the Acer Nitro comes with a boxy design and a matte finish display. It pretty much looks like any other gaming monitor, however, Acer has also included a monitor hood that helps cut out reflections from the edges. The monitor features an easy to adjust ErgoStand that allows you to swivel, pivot, and adjust the height for best comfort. It even comes with the Acer VisionCare technology to protect users from eye fatigue. The ASUS PG278QR 27″, which belongs to ASUS ROG series, has a simpler design, and is cheaper.

Value

The Acer Nitro is almost in the same league as the Acer Predator X27, but is a better deal and more expensive that the ASUS ROG Swift 27-inch monitor. It has better features such as higher refresh rate, Nvidia G Sync and AMD FreeSync support. It also comes with two 4W speakers that are housed within the monitor, along with buttons and USB ports on either sides. You get two HDMI ports, four USB 3.1 ports, and two displayport. A cheaper option would be the LG 27MP59G-P 27″ Gaming Monitor, which offers 4K resolution and AMD FreeSync.

This monitor from Acer will definitely enhance your gaming setup with features such as 144Hz refresh rate, 4K resolution IPS panel, and support for Nvidia G Sync as well as AMD FreeSync. Although, it would’ve been great if you didn’t need to connect two displayport cables and disable HDR/G Sync/FreeSync to attain the 144Hz refresh.
