It’s not the biggest problem in the world, but still, no one enjoys getting up in the morning, looking in the mirror, and seeing a zit taking up residence on their faces. So much so we’ve got zit-popping apps. How long is that clogged pore going to last, though? That’s what ScanZ is hoping to do.
Zit Zapping With Your Smartphone
It’s pretty straightforward in the application, really. You take the ScanZ, and plug it into your smartphone using its data and charging port. Then, well, you rub it all over your face, or at least place it on a specific zit. The device does the necessary scanning, and then communicates the data to your smartphone, which is where the work really gets started.
The app runs the data and then coughs up information, ranging from how much sebum you’ve got to deal with to how long it’s going to take that zit to go away. Yes, it’s called “sebum.” It’ll also rate the zit on its chances of scarring you for life. No, just physically; it can’t measure social concerns.
In fact, it’s so good at its job the developers are claiming that it can actually anticipate zits; if you’ve got a suspicion about some area on your face, you can use the scanner to see if you’re going to break out. Needless to say, the app will also have plenty of handy tips about what you can do to keep said zit from bursting out.
Taking care of your skin is important, if for no other reason than facial scarring isn’t a heck of a lot of fun. And if you want to monitor your acne, or your overall skin health, it’ll be useful to have a device like this lying around the house. Don’t expect it to be cheap, though: A consumer model starts at $199 on IndieGoGo.
