Forget vacuums that only limit themselves to dry cleaning; you want a vacuum that’s also capable of wet cleaning, and the best shop vac for that is the Karcher WD4. Multi purpose and powerful, the Karcher WD4 wields its entire 1800 watts of suction power with incredible consistency, accompanied by a 5.3-gallon capacity.

Why We Like It – Karcher WD4

Powered by 1800W of suction power, the Karcher WD4 is brimming with performance, all while encasing its power within a small, compact stainless steel body.

Pros
  • 1800W of suction power
  • 5.3 gallon capacity
  • Small, compact stainless steel design
Cons
  • Bundles with basic accessories

Power

Like their high pressure washers, Karcher’s WD4 is equally powerful in its own right. It wields 1800 watts of suction power, which is put to good use when combined with its suction brush, whether it’s on dry flooring or picking up wet messes.

Speed & Efficiency

Power does improve its speed in which it cleans, reduces the amount of times you have to go over the same spot. More importantly, its floor nozzle has a wide cleaning path, increasing the amount it picks up at one time. But if you want to suck up dust as you work, the Bosch Vacuum is better equipped for the job.

Bin Capacity & Maintenance

To reduce maintenance, the Karcher WD4 uses a pleated filter bag, which is exceptionally good at holding in tiny particles and debris. And since it has more filter area, you reduce the effect debris has on the motor itself.

Durability

The most important features to get right on a shop vac is the suction hose and the exterior. Thankfully, the Karcher WD4 has both; the exterior is strong, durable stainless steel, like the Ridgid Vacuum, as opposed to thick plastic, like the DeWalt Vacuum uses. Accompanying its tough exterior is accessory storage in the back.

Value

Power tools aren’t the only thing Karcher dips their hands into, nor is it just cordless vacuum cleaners. The Karcher WD4 proves their shop vacs are just as good, if not great. What’s most impressive is how small the vacuum is compared to the power it’s giving out. If there’s anything we would’ve wanted, it would be more accessories, because you just get the basics.

Karcher WD4 Wrap Up

We can look past the basic bundle of accessories, because the Karcher WD4 brings to the table so much power in such a small, compact design. Having 1800W of suction power is impressive at this size. And plus, Karcher was able to hide 5.3 gallon capacity, wrapped in a stainless steel chassis.
