Wielding a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6GB and a fast Intel i5 CPU, this gaming PC is a champ at running the latest and greatest library of video games, from League of Legends to Apex Legends.

Starting with CPU, the Intel Core i5-9400F is faster and slightly better than the AMD Ryzen 5 in the SkyTech Blaze 2 Gaming PC, but behind the superior Intel Core i7 in the iBUYPOWER Gaming Desktop. Any one of those CPUs are great for a desktop gaming computer, especially one that is VR ready. Paired with the CPU is a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6GB. It isn’t a GeForce RTX model, but as far as gaming performance is concerned, it’ll play the latest and greatest games with FPS in the sixties and beyond, like Apex Legends, Fortnite, and League of Legends.
This gaming PC computer desktop disappoints in two areas: 8GB of RAM and a poorly rated power supply. The 500W PSU is a Solytech 8500BTX, which many customers have reported low quality and largely stay away from.
There’s something enticing about gaming PCs that go for a simple, yet striking design. The iBUYPOWER Elite Gaming PC does both with its tempered glass side panel, brushed metal finish with a single zig-zag stripe of RGB lighting. Two USB 3.0 ports are located on the top, alongside a jack for headphones and mic. Included in the design is a 480GB SSD as opposed to a beefy hard drive. SSDs are generally faster, but a big hard drive would’ve been nice considering the price.
The iBUYPOWER Elite Gaming PC makes a few mistakes but mostly good choices. Pairing a GTX 1660 Ti 6GB and Intel i5-9400F make for wonderful bedfellows. It looks good, plays incredibly well for recent titles, and even comes with a gaming keyboard and mouse (with RGB lighting). But is it worth the asking price? Not quite, and mainly because of the poorly rated PSU. In fact, a better deal would be the CyberpowerPC Gamer Xtreme; it’s fitted with the same CPU, GPU, RAM, and an SSD/HDD combo for nearly $100-150 cheaper.
The iBUYPOWER Elite Gaming PC is asking a lot, considering it’s running with a PSU that’s so poorly rated. You’ll want to immediately replace it, and that’s a bill not everyone can front. If you can replace it immediately, in return you’ll have a high-end NVIDIA GTX 1660 Ti 6GB paired with a fast intel i5 processor that will run the latest and greatest games, easily. Having an SSD is just the cherry on this sundae.
