Rick Sanchez is a genius on a godly level. Rick is smart enough to build anything he wants in the family garage. He can also travel to infinite places in his spaceship, yet you will often find him drunk throughout the series because he lives life as a nihilist. Morty is a shy person, he is often stressed at the situations his grandpa puts him in through. Together they are the dynamic duo that carries the series through new worlds with different rules that will amaze you.

Every episode is a new trip as Rick and Morty travel through different universes. The series takes us to new places every time, so if you’re looking for some consistency with the setting a better option will be The Act. The aliens in the universe and the laws they go by will keep you excited at every turn. Who knows what Rick and Morty would do if they stumbled onto the totalitarian society in The Handmaid’s Tale. This show feels like Futurama and The Simpsons blended as one. In addition to the crazy visuals, the show also has a lot of character development within the Smith family.

This show has everything to be considered a cult classic. Rick and Morty are always doing the unimaginable. When you can travel anywhere and build anything there are endless hours of fun to watch. Aside from the adventures, it is nice to see the Smith family try their best to live as a happy family. This show also tends to challenge pop-culture norms. Another show that deals with pop culture is Atlanta, a show about rappers trying to make it big.
