The TCL Q6 is an entry-level television that launched in April 2023. The TV comes in four different sizes (55-inch, 65-inch, 75-inch, 85-inch) and offers smart TV functionality using the Google OS. You can use Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa with the remote control’s integrated microphone, but the TV itself does not include hands-free voice control.
The TCL Q6 utilizes a 4K display resolution and a QLED panel. You’ll get three HDMI 2.0 input ports, as well as a USB port, digital optical output, and composite input. The Q6/650G performs best as a gaming TV thanks to its tested 10.9ms input lag and variable refresh rate (VRR) support. Though it only offers a native 60Hz refresh rate, the VRR allows you to bump that up to 120Hz at 1080p or 1440p resolution.

The TCL Q6/Q650G television offers a good overall picture quality, especially when you consider its entry-level price point. With 4K resolution, a 94% color gamut, and HDR/HDR10+ support, this TV produces a crystal-clear image with vibrant colors.
The 8,058:1 native contrast ratio also creates deeper blacks than most other entry-level televisions, meaning you won’t experience nearly any blooming in dark scenes.
Great Brightness Levels
Both HDR and SDR brightness levels on this television are enough to combat glares in well-lit rooms, meaning you can enjoy your shows and video games at any time of the day. The TCL Q6 offers 497 nits of HDR and SDR brightness.
The television also handles reflections well, meaning you don’t always need to find the optimal viewing angle to enjoy your content.
Excellent Variable Refresh Rate Support
The TCL Q6/Q650G offers a native 60Hz refresh rate, which is to be expected for a budget television. However, it also supports variable refresh rate (VRR) technology, which means you can adjust your TV’s resolution to achieve better motion handling.
When in 1080p or 1440p resolutions, the TCL will operate with a 120Hz refresh rate, which is perfect for gaming.
Low Input Lag
With a fast 10.9ms of input lag during testing, this option makes for an excellent gaming TV. When you press a button on your controller, the TV will reflect the action in the game almost instantaneously.

The TV’s out-of-box color calibration offers a number of errors, including white balance and undersaturation issues. Some may not notice these, but if you’re a stickler for color accuracy, you’re going to need to do some custom calibration.

Since the TCL doesn’t have any local dimming functionality, blacks can appear washed out when a bright highlight appears during dark scenes.
HDM1 2.0 Only
This television only offers three HDMI ports, which may not be enough for everyone. On top of that, the HDMI ports only offer HDMI 2.0 support, so gamers with the latest consoles won’t be able to utilize their consoles’ fullest display capabilities.
