Panasonic TH-65PV500 - Record TV on the TV (sort of)

November 9th, 2005

Panasonic in a surprising twist of ingenuity is releasing a TV that allows you to record (MPEG 4) its contents (what’s on TV) to SD card. Just pop-out the SD card and pop it into your favorite PVP, and watch the content on the go. Probably not the best format as SD capacity is limited, but nonetheless provides a sensible step in the right direction with today’s portable media options. The TV will also feature PCMCIA connectivity.

Panasonic will be featuring this new tech in its VIERA line flat panel TV, the 65-inch TH-65PV500. Currently available in Europe, expect to drop about $12,000.
