Developer and leaker pdfu examined Apple’s iOS 27.1 simulator and found localization strings tied to an app called Rushmore, which appears intended to host redesigned StandBy faces but was absent from the simulator itself. According to 9to5Mac’s September 28, 2026 report, those strings exposed five names Apple has not publicly announced: Home Camera, Home Modular, Flow, Fade, and Snoopy.
Apple’s confirmed StandBy lineup for iPhone Duo includes Clock, Modular, Calendar, and Weather faces. The Photos view also supports Shared Albums and deeper customization across colors, fonts, and complications. The five names pdfu surfaced sit entirely outside that official announcement.
What These Views Might Do
Each of the five leaked names points toward a different kind of ambient display experience, though the details range from thin to nonexistent.
Home Camera reportedly enables a single camera feed to appear within StandBy. That could turn a propped-up iPhone Duo into a quick monitoring display, though which cameras, protocols, or security permissions it would support remains unconfirmed.
Home Modular reportedly goes further, displaying either a grid of camera feeds or a set of custom smart-home controls. The description suggests something closer to a HomeKit-style dashboard, though the precise layout and supported accessories have not been established.
Flow, according to pdfu, involves responsive or animated artwork. That reading is speculative; the available evidence identifies the name but does not define how the view behaves in practice.
No functionality has been reported for Fade beyond its name. Any connection between Fade and Flow is conjecture at this point, based solely on their co-appearance in the strings.
Snoopy is expected to resemble Apple’s familiar tvOS Snoopy animations in style. Whether it functions as an interactive face, a passive screensaver-style loop, or something with sound effects remains unknown.
How Much Weight to Give This
Simulator code and localization strings are a preview of possibility, not a product roadmap.
Localization strings and simulator assets can represent features that are experimental, incomplete, or ultimately cut before release. Some leak-sourced names ship under different labels; others never appear in a public build at all. Apple could alter, rename, delay, or remove any of these five views before the iPhone Duo ships on October 23. That possibility extends through any later iOS update as well.
The iPhone Duo’s confirmed StandBy capabilities are already a meaningful step forward. Apple says the feature can activate on either the inner or outer display, and it can do so without the phone being connected to power. If Home Camera and Home Modular do arrive, that foundation would gain a smart-home monitoring and control layer that sits persistently on the folded device.
