To help narrow down the above list, we compiled user reviews, and aggregate reviews and did thorough research to ensure that each of the above monitors featured full and seamless integration with AMD FreeSync 2, provided your PC includes the appropriate video card. To that end, we researched to ensure that each display reduced screen-tearing and ghosting via integration with FreeSync.

We also liked gaming monitors with high-end specifications, allowing you to take your gaming experience to the next level. Best FreeSync Gaming Monitor Buyer’s Guide

The Most Important Features to Consider

  • Gaming Specs
    • Make sure that lag time is minimized via a speedy response time and a highly usable refresh rate. We recommend a 1ms response time and at least a 144Hz refresh rate, though some monitors can reach 240Hz refresh rates. Resolution and screen size is also important, though be prepared to pay significantly extra for monitors with a 4K resolution. You may also want to look at the contrast ratio, color gamut, color accuracy, color reproduction, and the reduction of motion blur.
    • If immersion and high-grade gaming experiences are important to you, then you are going to want to take a close look at the specs available with any monitor you are thinking of purchasing and the graphics card of your computer. Make sure that the monitor integrates seamlessly with AMD FreeSync or Nvidia G-Sync technology, depending on what your graphics card requires.
gsync-vs-freesync-table
  • Adjustability
    • Every gamer is different and every setup is different. Make sure the monitor you are thinking of buying comes with an integrated stand that is highly adjustable along with many metrics, including height, tilt, and swivel. If you prefer to mount your display on a wall, make sure the screen is VESA-mountable and that the VESA mounts do not cover up any necessary port or connection input.
  • Ports and Connections
    • To maximize the gaming experience, ensure that your chosen Freesync gaming monitor has plenty of ports and connections available. Look for HDMI, DisplayPorts, and headphone ports for immersion. Some monitors also include USB, USB 3.0, and USB charging ports, the latter being used to charge up smartphones and other gadgets as you game. Audio in/outs is also a prime consideration, as you are likely to want to hook up your gaming rig to a high-quality sound system.
