Key Takeaways

Key Takeaways

  • LEGO Ideas set 21375 becomes the program’s largest ever, spanning 5,363 pieces.
  • The Godzilla model stands over 27.5 inches tall with fully adjustable articulation points.
  • Buy before November 30 to receive a free 359-piece Godzilla Logo and Footprint set.

Matthew Esposito, a New York-based LEGO Ideas contributor who goes by MattE720 on the platform, submitted a Godzilla concept that took more than two years to reach the required 10,000 supporters. LEGO’s professional design team then developed that submission into a retail model, which the company now identifies as the largest set ever released through the LEGO Ideas program.

What 5,363 Pieces Looks Like on a Shelf

Set 21375 contains 5,363 pieces. When posed with its Heat Ray effect, the model measures more than 27.5 inches (70 centimeters) tall, approximately 10.5 inches wide, and 15.5 inches long, according to Forbes and The Verge.

The model is based on the Monsterverse version of Godzilla and features blue dorsal fins. Articulation is a central design point.

Builders can adjust the head, arms, wrists, fingers, and tail position, with the tail configurable to face either left or right. The Heat Ray effect swaps in where the tongue sits, letting you choose between a composed display pose and a mid-attack stance.

The Gift-with-Purchase Adds a Reason to Move Fast

LEGO has confirmed a separate 359-piece companion model, set 40888, titled Godzilla Logo and Footprint, as a gift-with-purchase during the launch window. The bonus build includes a brick-built Godzilla logo, a footprint scaled to match the main model’s foot, a miniature cityscape, and a small Mothra detail, according to The Brick Fan.

Availability runs from November 27 through November 30, or while supplies last.

Where This Sits in the Market

At $449.99 and 5,363 pieces, this set sits alongside other premium LEGO collector releases rather than standard play sets. Its LEGO Ideas origin adds a community dimension that differs from purely internal LEGO projects.

Esposito’s submission became the basis for the retail product, with LEGO’s professional design team developing the final model from that concept. For collectors tracking the Ideas program, that origin may be part of the appeal alongside the build itself.
