EZSAVE Lockdock Puts a Pin on Your Internet Hard Drive
PIN encrypted hard drives are hardly new, but this is probably the first we’ve seen for external drives.
Your data will be safe stored using 256-bit AES hardware encryption, that is until you dial in the pin, which can range from 4-8 digits in length. This provides over 100 million variations and pretty much ensures no one, know matter how clairvoyant or inclined with magical powers, will be able to hack your data. In the event you do forget your overly complicated PIN they include a master code that you best store in a safety deposit box, otherwise without it your data will forever be encrypted. Fortunately, using some accompanying software you can partition any 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch internal drive, such that you can quickly and easily access your data without having to lift a finger. Just keep in mind anyone – jealous girlfriends, sneak roommates and those alike – will be able to access it. While you will need a power source to use the EZSAVE Lockdock, at least there is a USB 3.0 port for max throughput.
